Shia Azaan (Call for Prayers) and Shia Iqaama (Set up for Prayers)

Azaan/ Adhan (Call for Prayers) is recited before Iqaama (Set up for Prayers), they are usually made when time for Salah/ Namaz/ Prayers have set in. Muslim sects differs slightly in their formats, even with compulsion/ weight-age each sentence carry, same happens with different Shia centers, following is conventional Shia Azaan.

Prophet Mohammed ordered Azaan after his migration to Madina, the person who delivers azaan is called 'Muezzin', first Muezzin of Islam was Bilal s/o Ribah who was a faithful companion/ Sahaabi of Prophet Mohammed. After the event of Ghadeer (Announcement of Ali's vice-regency), Salman Persian another faithful companion/ Sahaabi of Prophet Mohammed delivered azaan, this time he is reported to have recited: Ash'hadu anna Aliyyun Wali'allah (I testify Ali is Vicegerent of God). People instantly took objection and Prophet Mohammed himself made them know that this was exactly what he had announced just then.

Shia do not add sentences like, 'Prayer is better than sleep/ Assalaatu khaerum min an naum' in dawn azaan/ prayer's call because they were added by Umar s/o Khattab the second caliph during his reign but he did not had any authority to do so. Umar s/o Khattab is also noted in Shia history to have removed 'Hayya alaa khaeril a'mal/ Hasten towards best activity' for abrupt reasons. Shia also do not have any extra azaan on friday which again was an innovation, this time by Uthman s/o Affan third caliph during his reign.

Conventional Shia Azaan (Call for Prayers):

1 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
2 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
3 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
4 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
5 Ash'hadu an laa ilaaha ill Allah
(I testify none is deity except God)
6 Ash'hadu an laa ilaaha ill Allah
(I testify none is deity except God)
7 Ash'hadu anna Mohammadur Rasulallah
(I testify Mohammed is Messenger of God)
8 Ash'hadu anna Mohammadur Rasulallah
(I testify Mohammed is Messenger of God)
9 Ash'hadu anna Aliyyun Wali'allah
(I testify Ali is Vicegerent of God)
10 Ash'hadu anna Aliyyun Hujjatullah
(I testify Ali is Ambassador of God)
11 Hayya alas salaah
(Hasten towards prayers)
12 Hayya alas salaah
(Hasten towards prayers)
13 Hayya alal falaah
(Hasten towards success)
14 Hayya alal falaah
(Hasten towards success)
15 Hayya alaa khaeril a'mal
(Hasten towards best activity)
16 Hayya alaa khaeril a'mal
(Hasten towards best activity)
17 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
18 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
19 Laa ilaaha ill Allah
(None is deity except God)
20 Laa ilaaha ill Allah
(None is deity except God)

Iqaama (Set up for Prayers) is recited just when Salah/ Namaz/ Prayers is about to be started. In Congregational prayers/ Jama'at people continue to sit until the sentence 'Qad iqaamatis salaah/ Stand for Prayers' are said, people then stand to make rows for prayers.

Conventional Shia Iqama (Set up for Prayers)

3 Ash'hadu an laa ilaaha ill Allah
(I testify none is deity except God)

5 Ash'hadu anna Mohammadur Rasulallah
(I testify Mohammed is Messenger of God)
6 Ash'hadu anna Mohammadur Rasulallah
(I testify Mohammed is Messenger of God)
7 Ash'hadu anna Aliyyun Wali'allah
(I testify Ali is Vicegerent of God)
8 Ash'hadu anna Aliyyun Hujjatullah
(I testify Ali is Ambassador of God)
9 Hayya alas salaah
(Hasten towards prayers)
10 Hayya alas salaah
(Hasten towards prayers)
11 Hayya alal falaah
(Hasten towards success)
12 Hayya alal falaah
(Hasten towards success)
13 Hayya alaa khaeril a'mal
(Hasten towards best activity)
14 Hayya alaa khaeril a'mal
(Hasten towards best activity)
15 Qad iqaamatis salaah
(Stand for Prayers)
16 Qad iqaamatis salaah
(Stand for Prayers)
17 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
18 Allahu Akbar
(God is Greatest)
19 Laa ilaaha ill Allah
(None is deity except God)

In Salatul Eid/ festival prayers and Salat Janaza/ funeral prayers Azaan and Iqaama are not said, just three times 'Assalaat (the prayers)' are said loudly.

Shia rules also require Azaan to be recited in right ear and Iqaama to be recited in left ear of new born child, when the child is born.

Oh Allah! Peace and Salutation be upon Mohammed and House-hold of Mohammed.

I strongly agree with your point that the Strong Relationships with your customer is the key,and Use the Language Your Customers Use. These two points are the main key points which we have to focus in B2B Marketing.

  6. Until you know the meaning of kafir dear brother do not comment on any one. Kafir is the one who is not a believer.. We don't know who is believer and who is not... Because we can read anyone's mind or heart... Rest Allah s. w. t knows best.

  8. Is there any hadith to support this azan from the other eleven caliphs

  9. If not, then it is concocted. A Fabrication. No any other person names is to be mentioned in azan or ikamat except Allah and his Prophet. If Ali cannot interceed for us Muslims in judgement day, then this addition is wrong. Islam is all about the Allah and his guidance to the prophet

  10. Salaam Alaykum brother,

"O you who have believed, when you go forth [to fight] in the cause of Allah , investigate; and do not say to one who gives you [a greeting of] peace "You are not a believer," aspiring for the goods of worldly life; for with Allah are many acquisitions. You [yourselves] were like that before; then Allah conferred His favor upon you, so investigate. Indeed Allah is ever, with what you do, Acquainted."

Secondly, you are saying we are kaffir because what? The Imam's peace be upon them are the family of Prophet, and naturally their teaching would be more knowledgeable than anyone outside of the family of the prophet. If you discrace the Imam's you are in turn insulting the son of Prophet PBUH, and may Allah forgive you for this.

    1. Rasolullah (saw) said “If I had taken anyone as my closest friend I would have taken Abu Bakr, but he is my brother and companion,” Mind your words brother, correct them and repent to Allah and follow the sunnah if you want jannah. He (saw) said “My ummah will split into seventy-three sects, all of whom will be in Hell except one group.” They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allaah? He said: “(Those who follow) that which I and my companions follow.”This being said why do you still blindly follow iblis and 'comment' Astaghfirullah. May Allah show you and every muslim guidance.

  17. Salam!

You are watching at Khalifat of Omar ra and Osman Imparies and criticizing them for changeing adding in Ezzan but you are not doing it against yourself that you addedd 4 senteces in Ezzan which neither Ali ra wouldnt accept.
Shia changed religion of God, Islam, after Omar ra attacked Persian and since then you dont like originaly islam.
Where did u take the right of changing and talking bad against sahabas and other family member of beyt of Resulullah saws?
Course of Allah svt will be drown to them who do so.
And praying to other imams is shirk as christian do to Isa a.s
You make 2 rakats by praying in graves of imams and asking them to ask Allah svt fof you.
Pls accept originaly islam as jews did in Medina and other places even althoug it was very difficult for them to accept from arabic resulullah.
This is only way of true Isam and succes for this life and hereafter.

If Iran citizens accept this, would be most wouderful thing i expirencied

May Allah guide us all to right path, amin

  18. We don't have right to say kafir to anyone....kafir is completely different...a one who knws in heart the truth and still deny...how can you see inside some one's heart....they have different believe may Allah give them hidaya....don't say kafir....we are not authorized to do so

  19. Islam is what Allah sent to the prophet and what the 12 imams gave their life to protect. They will still give there love to any Muslim, even those who don't believe in them. Ali was the only person in the entire world to be suitable enough to marry the radio is only daughter. All you who don't believe in the strength and power of our 12 imams, shame in you, for these 12 pious people don't do anything without the will if Allah and do everything for Allah and his religion of Islam. If you don't believe that is your fault, but I do and i know 100% that I follow those who are the family and the dearest companions of the prophet and the people who do not even talk without the will of allah
